Section Profile

The Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Law Section of the State Bar of Texas publishes a quarterly Newsletter for all Section members. The Section sponsors four major legal seminars each year: The Advanced Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Law Course, co-sponsored with the Professional Development Program of the State Bar of Texas, and the Annual Ernest E. Smith Oil, Gas, and Mineral Law Institute, the Annual Gas and Power Institute, and the Annual Wind Energy Institutes, all of which are co-sponsored with The University of Texas School of Law. The Section also sponsors a variety of other projects designed to serve our members and the Bar, including, for the first time this year, the "Nuts and Bolts of Oil and Gas Law" program in conjunction with the Advanced Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Law Course and the "Fundamentals of Oil, Gas and Mineral Law Primer - A Full Day Boot Camp" program in conjunction with the Ernest E. Smith Oil, Gas, and Mineral Law Institute. Additional information concerning these projects will be available as this website is updated in the coming months.
